Ministries
St. Florian Parish encourages parishioners to participate in one of our social, liturgical, or musical ministries. If interested, please contact the parish office.
Parish Ministry | Description |
Altar Servers | Alter servers assist the priest in preparing for Mass. The servers take part in the liturgy by performing tasks to help the priest celebrate Eucharist. Children who received their first holy Communion can be alter servers. |
Choir/Cantors | Provide musical support of full and active participation in the liturgy. |
Eucharistic Ministers | Parishioners assist the priest in providing pastoral care to the sick and homebound of the parish. The ministers take Eucharist to the sick whether they are at home, a personal care home, or nursing home. |
Greeters | Welcome people to liturgy and assist in directing an orderly flow of people and seating; collects offertory. Volunteers should be at least 14 years of age. |
Lectors | Lectors proclaim the word of God during Mass or other liturgical functions. Lectors devote time to preparation and understanding of sacred Scripture. |
Ushers | The ushers take up the offertory and distribute bulletins after Mass. They also assist as needed with emergencies or other necessary concerns. |
Children’s Liturgy of the Word | Provide a Liturgy of the Word experience for young children separate from the congregation. |
